Maldives Stock Exchange and Maldives Securities Depository Participate in Maldives Financial Expo 2026

Maldives Stock Exchange and Maldives Securities Depository participated in the Maldives Financial Expo 2026, held from 2 to 4 July 2026 at Hulhumalé Central Park.

The Expo was officially launched by President Dr Mohamed Muizzu and was organized by the Maldives Monetary Authority under the theme "Empowering Sustainable Futures: Inclusion, Innovation, and Intelligence." Returning after a nine-year hiatus, the Expo brought together key institutions from across the Maldivian financial sector, creating a platform for the public to learn about financial services, engage with industry representatives, and gain a better understanding of the country's financial ecosystem.

As part of the Expo, Maldives Stock Exchange and Maldives Securities Depository engaged with visitors through their stall, providing information on capital market services, investor awareness, investment opportunities, securities depository services, shareholder solutions, and digital platforms. The team also conducted interactive activities to encourage public participation and improve understanding of the capital market.

To encourage visitors to deepen their knowledge of the capital market, MSE and MSD invited stall visitors to open an Infinity account and/or participate in a quiz, either of which earned them an entry into a daily lucky draw held at the close of the stall each day. The response was overwhelming, with over 600 entries received over the three days.

Summer Island, STO, Blood Orange, ICETO, Reefside, and Filitheyo Island Resort came on board to sponsor the lucky draw, with winners receiving vacations, food vouchers, household electronics, and wellness products.

The activity also drove a remarkable spike in new account creations: MSE/MSD recorded over 250 new MSD/Infinity account sign-ups during the Expo, compared to an average of just 15 on a typical day, a tenfold increase that reflects growing public interest in participating in the capital market.

MSE and MSD also took part in the Children's Evening, creating an opportunity to introduce young visitors and families to basic financial concepts in an engaging and accessible manner.

Through its participation, MSE and MSD reaffirmed their commitment to promoting financial literacy, investor education, digital access, and greater public awareness of the Maldivian capital market.
